In February this year, the Supreme Court in Lokniti Foundation case passed an order asking for re-verification of all SIM cards with Aadhaar cards by February 6, 2018. All the mobile SIM cards that are not linked with Aadhaar by that date will be deactivated.

Coming back to mobile SIM cards linking with Aadhaar car, here are the steps that you need to follow: case
First and foremost, you cannot do this online (so far). So, if you come across any links on the internet that claims to do this for you, just ignore them as they may be fraudulent in nature.
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Centre to your home.
Step 2: Get an Aadhaar Update/Correction Form from the Aadhaar Centre. You can also download this form from UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in/).
Step 3: Fill the form and submit it to the concerned person at the Aadhaar Centre. Do remember to mention that you only want to get the mobile number updated.
Step 4: To get your mobile number updated, you shall also need to take a photocopy of an identity proof like PAN Card or Passport.
Step 5: After you do this, a biometrics verification will be done at the Aadhaar Centre.
Step 6: Collect an acknowledgement slip from the enrolment centre. Your mobile number will then be linked to Aadhaar within the next 10 days.
Earlier this month, the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) gave telecom operators a month’s extension (till January 1) to enable subscribers to ‘re-verify’ their SIM cards through a one-time password (OTP). The earlier date was December 1. This means that from January 1, citizens will be able to link their mobile SIms with Aadhaar with via OTP.
Last week, the government had also extended the deadline to link Aadhaar number with PAN cards. This extention, however, is only for those who don not have Aadhaar card as yet.
